The Third Annual Ronald McDonald House of Providence Women's Classic Amgen 5K Race & Cardi's Furniture 3K Walk

This is the third annual 'Women's Classic,' an event that started off with a bang in 2007 and has only garnered more recognition and support, as well as more participants and volunteers, over the years since. Women of all athletic abilities will take to the streets of Providence in solidarity for fitness, wellness, and a terrific cause: The Ronald McDonald House of Providence (RMH Providence).

The Place to Be
Join us Sunday, October 3rd, 2010! Festivies begin at 8:00 a.m, and race gun-time is 10:00 a.m. for both. You won't want to miss this running adventure! Both individuals and teams are invited to race. And definitely join the festivities at the impressive Wellness Fair for Women. The RMH Providence Women's Classic 5K offers a packed punch: An Olympic style finish on Brown University's track, cash prizes for individuals and teams (including cash prizes for age group winners), high-end tech-shirts or unique long sleeved T-shirts, commemorative awards to the top 25 runners, tons of merchandise gift certificates, and an excellent raffle for all who participate. In addition, the Ronald McDonald House of Providence has a track record of excellence in organization for this event. It will be a memorable experience for all women athletes who participate and support the RMH Providence mission.

Part of the 2010 USATF Grand Prix!
Another exciting feature to this year's race is that the Women's Classic is part of the 2010 USATF (USA Track and Field) New England Grand Prix – a popular annual road-running series that receives a lot of support and attention from the running community. It is the New England USATF Championship for Women. So expect a large turnout for this event, including some big names in running—some true regional stars--as well as women traveling to Rhode Island from all over New England and beyond. In fact, we urge you to pre-register for this event! Reserve your spot now and be part of this historic occasion. Register here: http://www.strands.com/register_for/RMH Providenceclassic

Supporting an Excellent Cause
The RMH Providence has been helping families of hospitalized children by offering programs, housing, and emotional support since 1989. By registering and racing in this event, you will be contributing much-needed funds to the RMH Providence, and to the health and welfare of families and patients at Providence area hospitals. Importantly 100% of all proceeds for this event are donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Providence, Rhode Island. To learn more about this great cause, visit: http://www.rmhprovidence.org/.

In addition to contributing to the welfare of families, the RMH Providence has also formed a running club! If you are interested in running/jogging or walking with other individuals, need some running advice, need a more structured training routine, or just want cool people to socialize with -- join this running club! Joining their club would be a great way to prepare for the Amgen 5K or Cardi's 3K Walk and make some new running or walking buddies along the way. For more information about this the club and schedule, visit http://www.rmhprovidencerc.org/ and see what you are made of.
