So, researchers at the University of Arizona analyzed Twitter hashtags to crunch the numbers regarding each state's most popular foods and food topics. They culled 3.5 million food-hashtagged tweets posted between October 2013 and May 2014, and didn't just find out which food we like. They were also able to make some health conclusions, like, for example, the fact that diabetes sufferers were more likely to tweet about Mexican food, fried food, or bacon, or that Democrats tweet about vegan food, brunch, and the deli counter more often, while Republicans prefer lunch, snacks, and #party food.

Florida loves talking about grits, but so does Pennsylvania. North Dakota is super into flan, while Maine has a total obsession with durian. And, New York apparently loves to talk about prunes (although, it should be noted that Prune is also a popular restaurant in the city). Check out the infographic below—does your state's most talked about food match your favorite #EEEEEATS?
