Drypoint is a printmaking technique of the intaglio family, in which an image is incised into a plate with a hard-pointed "needle" of sharp metal or diamond point, then inked by hand and printed on paper using a etching press. Traditionally created using a zinc or copper plate, we will learn to create a drypoint on plexiglass, which is a more affordable and accessible material. In this 2 day workshop you will learn the basics of creating a drypoint and printing with the use of a etching press. No prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided and experimentation is welcome! Taught by J.
