Printmaking Arts: Drypoint

Location: Center for The Creative Arts • 410 Upper Snuff Mill Row YorklynDE  19736 Organized by Center For The Creative Arts
Registration closed.

About this event

Drypoint is a printmaking technique of the intaglio family, in which an image is incised into a plate with a hard-pointed "needle" of sharp metal or diamond point, then inked by hand and printed on paper using a etching press. Traditionally created using a zinc or copper plate, we will learn to create a drypoint on plexiglass, which is a more affordable and accessible material. In this 2 day workshop you will learn the basics of creating a drypoint and printing with the use of a etching press. No prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided and experimentation is welcome! Taught by J. Hartz 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Saturday May 22 & Saturday May 29th, 2021 2 classes, 6 hours total *Masks are required while on the CCArts campus. *Please Note: CCArts reserves the right to transfer this class to an online format in the event of a State Mandated Shutdown.
