Mercer University's Athletic Training Program is proud to present the 1st Inaugural Athletic Training Month 5k. We are thankful for the opportunity to study athlete centered medicine and understand the positive impact we can have in the communities where we will practice. This project will benefit the students in the Master of Athletic Training program to be able to attend state and national conferences to further our knowledge to be the best health care providers they can be. Our program views this 5K as an opportunity to raise money for an important cause, as well as an occasion for our class to connect with our surrounding community. Mercer has recruited a highly qualified group of students with many different types of medical training and life experiences. Despite our different backgrounds, the members of our class are united in our love for science, sports medicine and our desire to apply this learning for the benefit of the patients who will depend on our care. We are excited about the expanding role of our profession in healthcare and look forward to the day when we practice athlete center medicine as Athletic Trainers. 

Event details and schedule

 The race is a 5K trail run/walk open to all ages.Cost: $25 registration online until March 28th, 2016 @8:30 am. Day of registration is also available, for $25. Registration for students is $15 with school ID/badge. Children under 10 have free admission. Race day registration will begin at 8:00 AM. Race begins at 9:00 AM. Location: Mercer University Macon Campus (1501 Mercer University Dr, Macon, GA 31207). Parking is FREE in the Mercer University parking lot. Suggestion to park in the Mercer Medicine parking lot. Top runners' prizes TBD. Dogs on leashes are welcome!
