Description
This ensemble is designed to provide a high-quality musical experience in a positive and inclusive learning environment. The course is open to all UMKC students with prior wind, brass, and percussion instrumental experience, regardless of degree program or major area of study. Music Education, Jazz Studies, and Composition majors are encouraged to join and perform on a primary or secondary instrument. Campus Band is also open to community members over the age of 18 with the goal of providing a welcoming and uplifting space for music making in the community. Members of the Campus Band will rehearse on Monday evenings from 7:30-9:30 PM in PAC 326 and will perform two concert per semester.
Prerequisites:
- Campus Band is open to all UMKC students and community members with prior wind, brass, and percussion instrumental experience.
- 2-3 years of playing experience is recommended, but not required.
- Members must be 18 years or older.
- Individuals over the age of 50 may also be interested in the Roeland Park New Horizons Band program.
REFUNDS: All tuition and fees are non-refundable
