S1: AM Half Day Summit Seekers: Animals Gone Wild

Middle School Campus • 2100 Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd. DanvilleCA  94506 Organized by The Athenian School

About this event

Summit Seekers is filled with engaging activities that will give your child an unforgettable summer. Campers will participate in age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, non-competitive sports and outdoor activities. Led by fun and engaging teachers, morning campers will experience creative problem-solving activities connected to the session theme. From 9:00 AM to lunchtime, full-day and morning campers will be inspired by our awesome camp directors. In a safe setting, campers will be grouped by age with a dedicated credentialed teacher, camp counselors and caring counselors-in-training (CIT). Lunch is served at 12:00 PM. Half-day campers are welcome to join us for lunch. Please note the time for pick-up. Full-day campers have the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activity, and at the end of each session campers will go on a field trip. There will be one on-campus experience on the first Friday of the session, and one off-campus field trip on the second Friday of the session. Session 1 Theme: Animals Gone Wild Campers will join us for a "wildly" inspired session. As we investigate the untamed population of the animal kingdom around the globe, and closer to home the campers will search for their own spirit animal. All campers will have an opportunity to learn through art, science, and other fun hands-on activities such as animal cookie decorating contents, creating a mural map of California’s animal habitats, and making stuffed animals. Projects will include clay animals, animal direct draws, dissecting owl pellets, learning about our local habitats, identifying animal tracks, and making our own animal fossil prints.
