We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, July 31, 2021.
Grab your night gear and join the Carson City Park Rangers for an adventure unlike anything we've done before! We will be exploring the area around the Wild Horse Trail in the dark of night in search of our scorpion friends. Using the black lights, we'll be able to spot them due to a special substance found in their exoskeleton.
The hike is considered "More Difficult" under the IMBA Trail Rating system. Expect uneven terrain, rocks, and sandy sections along a two mile loop. We may be traveling off trail, so also expect some unmanaged terrain. Black lights will be provided, so all you need to bring is water, close-toed shoes, layers, and an excitement for scorpions!
Date: Saturday, July 31, 2021 Time: 9:00pm - 10:00pm Location: Wild Horse Trail located at the North end of Centennial Park.
Need To Know: - Online registration is required - Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult - Dogs are not allowed on this adventure as we don't want them disturbing the scorpions.
