---Instructor: Mona Wargo----While primarily a class for those interested in learning or developing their set painting skills, the painting and design techniques, such as sponging, marbling, dry brushing, stenciling etc. can also be adapted for home use. As well as gaining a thorough understanding of procedures and techniques, hands-on demonstrations will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills sets. Other topics include theatre protocols and fire codes, color/wheels, dutching, taping and seaming, types of paints and finishes and set development from inception to completion. Participants will also enjoy a backstage tour of the Greater DC's oldest theatre. At the end of the course, participants will bring home their personal pallet of work. All materials and supplies will be provided. If conditions warrant that the theatre be closed prior to the start of the session, a refund will be issued. If conditions warrant that the theatre be closed after the session has started, and it is not possible to offer a make-up class, a refund will be issued for unused classes.
