About this event

---Instructor: Sarah Holt---If you want to act, you have to have at least one prepared 60-second monologue you can perform that quickly shows off your type and range. Not every audition requires one, but tons, including at community theaters, do. Where do you find a good monologue? How do you know it’s right for you? How many do you need? This workshop will give you answers and help you get started finding monologues that are perfect for you and not the same ones everyone else is doing. Ideal for beginners dealing with “where do I begin” syndrome and more experienced actors looking for new ideas. You’ll be conducting a lot of online research, so all students must bring a laptop or tablet, or, in a pinch, use your phone. For ages 18+. All students must be fully vaccinated and boosted when eligible. Proof of vaccination is required prior to the start of the class. Students will wear masks while in the theatre or Academy buildings. This workshop does not involve any student performance, so masks will be worn at all times except by the teacher when she is presenting the workshop material.
