Texas: is home to more than just cattle, oil, the Cowboys football team and the Alamo. The Lone Star state also hosts a ton of triathlons. The Tri Raider Sprint, which is held at Buffalo Springs Lake, is one of the classics. Athletes begin in a spring-fed lake, head out for a 17.6-mile out-and-back bike that contains three climbs and finish with a 3.1-mile run on flat, somewhat shaded roads.

Enjoy the quaint town of Naperville while you work up a sweat. Participants kick off the sprint with a 400-meter swim that begins at Centennial Beach. The 22K double loop bike course takes athletes through the town and the 5K follows a jogging path along the Dupage River.

Swim in the Florida Keys Community College lagoon, complete a 10-mile three-loop bike ride and finish with a one-loop 5K run all on the island of Key West. If you're not up for the swim, try the biathlon. There's also a biathlon swim-bike option.

This is one fast race! The half-mile swim is held in the shallow Chinciteague Bay, which has an average water temperature of 68 degrees on race day. Athletes then complete a 15.2-mile bike ride on a flat, circular course and finish with a 3.1-mile flat run through the rural countryside of Worchester County.
TriLanai Offroad Sprint Triathlon

This sprint can be tackled as an individual or a relay. Athletes begin with a half-mile swim in the marine preserveof Hulopoe Bay and then they're off on a 10-mile mountain bike that goes by the La Ola Solar Farm. The race finishes with a 3-mile run on Challenge at Manele Golf Course. TriLanai is always scheduled for the weekend following the Xterra World Championships on Maui and is famous for attracting tons of volunteers, spectators and athletes ready for some fun.
