Air Force Marathon

Whether you're a member of our Armed Forces, part of a military family or a patriotic civilian, the Air Force Marathon on September 21, 2013, is a great opportunity to show your support. Participants may raise funds to benefit nine charity partners; there is also open registration. Half marathon, 10K and 5K options are also available.
Fox Cities Marathon

It's a running-filled weekend from September 20 to 22 in Menasha. The fun kicks off with a kids run at Fox Cities Stadium on Friday, followed by a 5K run/walk in Riverside Park on Saturday before the main half marathon, marathon and marathon relay events on Sunday. Refuel post-race on Sunday with the usual fruit and muffins, in addition to the unusual array of Arby's sandwiches and cookies.

Runners get plenty of perks at the Akron Marathon, including an intimate marathon field capped at 2,000, a water-resistant Brooks jacket, a finisher gift and free Running Times subscription, and more. Crowned the most walker-friendly marathon and one of the 10 greenest races by Runner's World magazine, the Portland Marathon is also a fast course that boasts more entertainment per-mile than many other races. The marathon's charitable foundation, "Going the Distance" has launched a campaign called Speak With Your Feet that benefits Boston Marathon victims; help raise funds for the charity while you train this year. ?
Monster Mash Marathon

This marathon and half marathon boasts one of the most unique first miles among other events: runners begin their journeys inside the Monster Mile race track before exiting under the grandstands and traversing through Dover and neighboring small towns. Costumes are welcome, and runners can celebrate at the post-race party featuring music, food and a casino. The marathon benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.
Empire State Marathon

Revel in the autumnal beauty of upstate New York, and sign up for either the marathon, half marathon or relay. Both the half and marathon courses take runners along Onondaga Lake in; the half marathon is flat and fast, and the marathon is mostly flat with a modest climb early on. Enjoy easy access to parking, a hassle-free exit at this easygoing event.
Humboldt Redwoods Marathon

Akin to a fairytale, the majesty of the towering redwoods in Northern California need to be seen to be believed. The Boston-qualifying marathon, half marathon and 5K all start at the Dyerville Bridge, along the famous Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt Redwoods state Park. All courses are fast, paved and shaded.
Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

Take a tour of the beautiful buildings dotting downtown Indianapolis at this flat, fast event that sold out last year. If you didn't get into Chicago or didn't run as well there as you'd hoped, this Boston qualifying event offers a prime course for a PR as well as the convenience of 20 hotels located near the start and finish. Bring your family along to participate in the half marathon, 5K or kids fun run.
Santa Barbara International Marathon

Run through lush lemon and avocado orchards on this point-to-point course, and finish on the 2-mile descent overlooking the glittering Pacific Ocean. Both the marathon and half marathon courses combine flat sections with rolling hills and descents. In an effort to green the race, only virtual race bags will be offered; bring your own bag to store your pre- and post-race necessities.

With temperatures usually hovering around 60 degrees in early November, the Pensacola Marathon offers prime marathon conditions and a chill beach location. The race starts at 6:30 a.m., giving runners a chance to view the sunrise over Escambia Bay before they head through historic neighborhoods and the downtown area. A half marathon course is also available.
December 7, 2013 - Negril, Jamaica 12 of 13
Take a pre-holiday mini vacation to Negril to run one of the most laid back marathons. Make your co-workers jealous with the tan you'll get running along the North Coast of the island on a mostly flat course while enjoying the steel-drum sounds of reggae bands along the course. If you're not up for 26.2 miles, there's a half marathon and 10K option as well.
