6 Strange Side Effects People Experience from Exercise

Exercise has an endless list of benefits, but there are some side effects your body can experience, too. Though they can seem strange, many of the side effects you experience during physical activity are normal.

Here are six odd, but very normal bodily reactions to exercise. Find out why they happen and what you can do to potentially fix them.

Yawning

One theory explains yawning as the body's need to increase oxygen flow to the brain. Another theory explains yawning as your body's way of dealing with a transition to exercise, which is a greater need to breath and blood vessel dilation.

Possible Remedy: When you get out of bed, take some deep breaths before you start your day. Also, start with a warm up before you begin an intense workout.

Excessive Sweating and Runny Noses

Exercise stimulates secretions of your body's glands, including mucus glands in your nose.

Possible Remedy: Since you're unable to stop your body from secreting, make sure you stay well-hydrated during your workout. Drink fluids every 15 to 20 minutes.
