If you run midday and want to avoid an afternoon slump, make sure your post-run lunch contains some protein. In a French study of 42 people, those who ate some protein after exercising felt happier and more alert than those who ate pure carbohydrate.
Women: Motivated to eat better
In a Runner's World survey of women readers, a whopping 81 percent said they began eating more healthful foods after starting their running programs. Seems that getting in shape somehow gives you the motivation to eat better.
