As the start gun fires in Centennial Park, over 17,000 participants will run past Music Row, Belmont University and Bicentennial Mall. Marathoners will run along the Cumberland River, past the State Capitol Building and through beautiful Shelby Park.
Jazz, country, rock n roll, swing and more will pulsate the course and get you to the finish line ... dont worry, the party doesnt stop there. Once you finish your race at The Coliseum, home of the Tennessee Titans, a Finish Line Festival awaits with live bands and plenty of refreshments.
The beat goes on ... music continues into the night as all Country Music Marathon & Marathon participants are treated to a free post-race concert in downtown Nashville. This year, country musics piano man, Phil Vassar, and special guests, Bering Strait, will rock Music City and cap a day full of running, music and excitement.
With newly designed flatter and faster courses, the 2004 event attracted a record number of participants. This year, a wave start will be implemented to ease crowding in the early stages of the race where marathoners and half marathoners run together for the first 11 miles.
A two-day Health & Fitness Expo precedes the Saturday race with over 60 exhibitors featuring everything from free samples, the latest running shoes and sports apparel to health and nutrition products.
