We're sorry, but this class is over. The last meeting was Monday, June 28, 2021.
The Levine Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) is open to intermediate and advanced adult string, wind, brass, and percussion players. In addition to rehearsing and performing a variety of traditional classical, romantic, opera, theater and cinema, symphonic pop, exploratory, and non-traditional literature in a full orchestra setting, students also have regular workshop and clinic opportunities with Levine and community music educators, musicians, and leaders. The orchestra meets weekly in a hybrid fashion, on Zoom and, whenever possible, in-person at the Silver Spring Campus. While on Zoom, students work on repertoire in different ways, learning the score and parts together while watching presentations applicable to our study and performance goals. In-person rehearsals occur with socially safe distances and current safety protocol. When registering, please provide a brief description of your performance experience and instrument study. This is essential information for the Music Director to prepare for the ensemble. You may fill out the brief form here. Please note: This is a yearlong ensemble. Registrations are accepted on a rolling basis with the approval of the Music Director. No auditions required.
