Ally will show you how to use the very versatile medium GOUACHE which is a water soluble paint but has some characteristics of acrylic. Gouache is an opaque matte medium (but can be as transparent as watercolor) and YES we will use white!! One of the popular techniques is layering with gouache- start with a thin wash and work thicker layers over it to create an opaque masterpiece. Layering allows you to make changes more easily and makes changes to value and tone. Once used mostly by illustrators, gouache is becoming more popular among modern painters. Let's experiment together with small and simply compositions to get the feel of the medium and see what all the fuss is about! You will love it! Supplies: Any gouache paint- Jerry's has a good quality inexpensive set of 18 colors of Marie's Gouache which I use. 9 x 12 Hot Press Watercolor Paper, various watercolor brushes, palette for mixing, paper towels, pencil, eraser and ruler. # Classes: 3 Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate firstname.lastname@example.org DigiDogPortraits, Etsy and Facebook Please view our refund policy here: https://www.artcentervb.org/education.html at bottom of page.
