About this event
Join this class and learn to understand the "language" of comics and graphic novels. We will read & study mentor texts in several genres, including superhero stories, memoirs, historical fiction, and non-fiction. Students will learn craft techniques that will push them to think deeper and write like an author. In this class, everyone will create their own graphic novel by generating, planning, and crafting stories with strong characters and story arcs. These literacy skills will strengthen reading and writing in all the other genres that are studied in schools. Join us, get creative, and start your own graphic novel this summer!
