Swim Lesson Instructor Training May 1st - 8th, 2021
Starfish Aquatics Swim Instructor (SSI) Training classes will be offered by Pima County SSI Trainers. Registration deadline is Friday, April 16th, 2021. Link for online modules will be sent out by Monday April 19th and must be completed by Friday April 30th.
Prerequisites:
Must be 16 years old by the first day of class and a current Pima County Lifeguard.
Must pass water skills screening to validate swimming ability at a level appropriate to demonstrate the skills that correspond with the curriculum included in the certification.
CLASS SCHEDULE:
Saturday 5/1/21 1pm-6pm
Sunday 5/2/21 1pm-6pm
Tuesday 5/4/21 4pm-8pm
Thursday 5/6/21 4pm-8pm
Saturday 5/8/21 1pm-6pm
All sessions will be held at the Thad Terry Aquatic Center located at the NW YMCA at 7770 N. Shannon Rd. Tucson, Az. 85741
Safety protocols including additional sanitization and social distancing will be in place during all classes. Classes are subject to immediate cancellation if any order or advisory by a federal, state or local official would preclude Pima County’s ability to teach these classes, such as orders and advisories intended to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. All registered participants would be immediately notified should there be a cancellation.
In the event that the pool is closed due to weather or an unforeseen circumstance, the class may need to be extended at the discretion of the SSI training Team. Please call Jodi Layton at (520) 724-5171 for any questions or additional information.
Fee is non-refundable once class has begun. A partial refund of $40.00 will be issued if participant is unable to pass the class pre-requisites.
Fee may be transferred to a later class or refunded if class is cancelled.
Additional $5.00 fee to transfer to another class once you have registered for a class.
