If you are motivated to train at a high and enjoyable level, maximize your athletic potential and train in a Christ-centered environment, the Valor XC & Distance Academy is for you! Our 9 Week Summer Training is for all middle schoolers (Registration is for individuals who will be enrolled in grades 6th - 8th in the Fall of 2021) looking to get in shape for the upcoming XC season, summer racing, or just looking to get fit for an upcoming athletic season. Training will be based around experience of each athlete. We will spend the summer working on flexibility, running mechanics, speed, core strength, power/explosiveness, aerobic conditioning, race pace work, race strategy, etc. We will also spend the summer having lots of fun while we're doing all of that. Runners are encouraged to sign up for local road/trail races throughout the summer if desired. Coach Coplen will be happy to work with families on what races will be best for each athlete. We will also work with middle school distance runners who are looking to participate in summer track meets. We will meet weekday mornings at 7:30 AM and will end between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM starting June 7th and running through July 30th. Training will take place primarily on the trails around the Highlands Ranch area (Grigs East/West Trailhead, High Line Canal, The Bluffs, etc). Coach Coplen will communicate location information on a weekly basis.
