U.S. Open Tennis Players Go the Distance

Written by

As you watch the U.S. Open on television, you may be awed by the pros' backhands, agility or even their stylish tennis outfits. But did you ever stop to think how much ground they actually cover during a match?

IBM did. And, in fact, they even went so far as to calculate it.

Check out the infographics below that show how many miles some of the top professional tennis players ran during the 2015 U.S. Open.

Totals reflect the cumulative miles each athlete ran leading up to the semi-final matches. Mileage was tracked via IBM's SlamTracker Ball and Player Movement intelligence.
