This day camp will have day trips originating from campus. On Monday, July 13, the group travels to the Mary Murray Culture Camp of the Sault Tribe on Sugar Island for a day of activities and history into the rich heritage of the Anishinaabe traditional way of life. On Tuesday, July 14, the campers travel to Tahquamenon Falls to learn wilderness survival skills and study aquatic invertebrates with the Park Interpreter. On Wednesday, July 15, the campers will travel to Drummond Island to have a 90-minute sail on a Tall ship, explore the Maxton Plains Alvar and visit the Drummond Island Historical Society. On Thursday, July 16, the campers will travel to Whitefish Point for a tour of the Lighthouse and a guided bird watching hike at the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory. All entrance and service fees are included in the registration fee. The campers will bring their own lunch but snack and beverages will be provided. A Michigan certified nurse will accompany the group each day. Space is limited to 15 campers. A 10% discount will be given at the time of registration for a camper signing up with a friend, sibling or both weeks. Only one discount can be used.
