Description

This class is designed for junior players with prior tennis experience who are ready to strengthen consistency, movement, technique, and overall court awareness. Taught by the USTA award-winning Santa Monica Tennis Collective, sessions use structured drills, live-ball play, and competitive games to help players develop greater control and confidence. Players will continue refining groundstrokes, volleys, serves, and returns while learning to sustain longer rallies, improve court positioning, and begin making more intentional shot selections. This class prepares players for the transition from skill development into team play and introductory competition.

Prerequisite: Players should know the basic form of groundstrokes and volleys, be able to serve to begin points, keep score, and sustain approximately a 5–10 ball rally with a peer. Free evaluations are available. Contact Debbie at 310-430-1962 to arrange.

Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
