We're sorry, but this sub-activity is over. The last meeting was Friday, June 19, 2020.
M-F 6/15 - 6/19, 9am-12pm Ages 9-16 $195
This camp is taught by a professional and your camper will gain knowledge to become a professional themselves. In this summer intensive art camp campers will explore photo image-making while learning how those photographs can be made into printmaking artworks. They will learn how light, perspective, and composition work together to compose a photograph to become a work of art. Pictures will be edited in Adobe Photoshop, and then manipulated through printmaking processes such as cyanotypes and photo-transfers. At the end of class on Friday, each student leaves with a portfolio/folder of new images. Campers will be using either a phone or digital camera for this camp.
Projects include: • portraiture — with natural light • a photo scavenger hunt • creating digital negatives in Photoshop for contact printing cyanotype positive on cotton watercolor paper • 2 days of pictures taking • 2 days of editing and developing • 1 day of alternative printing called cyanotype and learning how to transfer photos onto wood
Cost of camp includes all supplies needed and will be delivered to your home (this camp does require a phone with a camera or a digital camera) in this virtual art camp, daily ZOOM meetups to discuss daily photography techniques and to discuss curriculum with our art teacher, PDF step-by-step of every project, a how-to video with hints and tips taught by one of our experienced art teachers, and a private Facebook page to share your projects with other campers! This online camp would be perfect for those middle school and high school kids that have a great interest in photography but have not had the chance to take a course in school. It is in-depth and thorough!
