Skaters who can already skate forward improve forward skating techniques and learn forward sculling, wide slaloms, forward snowplow stopping and be introduced to backward sculling, backwards skating and one foot pumping on a straight line.

• Skates and helmet included in program fee
• Register for only one class per set

Prerequisite: Completion of or ability to meet Tot Level 4 or Child Level 2 skills or by drop in assessment during public skates. For further assessment information contact skating@portcoquitlam.ca.

• Gloves
• Helmet made for ice sport required, bike helmets permitted
• Skate and helmet rental free with registered lesson

Helpful tips:

• Allow adequate time prior to lessons to acquire and put on equipment
• Face cage highly encourage if providing your own helmet
• Non plastic skates provide better learning
