Description
Join local artist, June Minaya for a guided step by step instructional project. No painting experience is necessary and all supplies are included. Class will be held at the West Shore Senior Center ( 122 Geary Ave, New Cumberland ). Over the course of 3 class sessions, students will learn to use acrylic paint to create deep shadows and bold highlights in their landscape paintings, as well as paint brush usage and techniques to create desired effect. Each painting will begin with a light charcoal sketch, creating the lay out of their landscape design. We will be working on 11”x 14” stretched canvas (or canvas board, if you wish to frame your painting). All sketch and painting supplies will be provided. Larger sized canvases may be purchased for a separate fee ($10 each). No previous painting experience is necessary for this class. Creating artwork can open the door to self exploration at an emotional level. It can also help exercise focus skills and cope with stress. Students will be working at their own pace, but most still spend all three classes painting one canvas. If you are speedy, additional canvases will be available for purchase. Bring a photo, picture or page from a calendar/magazine containing a landscape scene that you would like to paint.
Here are the few items we want you to know.
- At your first in-person class, each participant will be required to sign a new waiver that now includes language regarding COVID. Due to the length of this waiver, we are making the document available on our website. Click here to review the waiver prior to arriving for class. You might want to consider bringing your own pen to sign the waiver.
- The instructor of this activity with require participants to wear facemasks.
- Enrollment is limited to a max of 8 people.
- Hand sanitizer will be provided, but we recommend that you bring your own.
