Come join us for a two hour Masterclass with Broadway lighting designer Travis McHale as he sheds some light on the seemingly enigmatic world of theatrical lighting. Travis' extensive design experience across the US includes 28 productions with PYT, New York Fashion Week, and Broadway shows such as Something Rotten, War Paint, and Sunset Boulevard. Travis will discuss the process of analyzing the play and developing concepts with the director as well as the lighting design process itself and the career and lifestyle of a professional lighting designer. You'll also have the opportunity to ask your own questions! Whether you're an aspiring lighting designer yourself, a budding director who's not sure how to incorporate lighting in their concept, or an actor just looking to understand why we make you stand still for so long during cue-to-cue, this interactive workshop will ensure you're not left in the dark! Masterclass will run from 1:00PM - 3:15PM with a 15 minute break from 2:00-2:15.
