Milton Optimists 2023 Independence Day Run/Walk

Join us for a fun, family-oriented race to start off the 4th of July holiday. There's something for everyone - a one-mile race on residential streets with a great downhill finish, a 5K walking route along part of the Ice Age Trail, and a picturesque 10K out-and-back course with rolling hills.
While the courses haven't changed, some of our procedures have to keep everyone safe. Please read through our event requirements before registering:
- The race will be held, weather permitting.
- The race will be timed, however, not chip timed.
- If you don't feel well on race day, please sit this one out.
- As always, you participate at your own risk.
- There are no refunds.
Run proceeds support youth in the Milton community throughout the year through the club's Kids on Stage theater program, community projects, sports team sponsorships, high school scholarships, library summer reading program and Breakfast with Santa.

Race Start Times:
- 10K run and 5K walk start at 8:30 am
- One-mile runners start at 8:35 am
Event details and schedule
Registration: Online registration closes June 28. Registrations will be taken on race day.
- Age 10 and under with a T-shirt $10
- Age 10 and under without a T-shirt $5
- Age 11 and up with a T-shirt $17, increases to $25 after June 28
- Age 11 and up without a T-shirt $10, increases to $15 after June 28
7-8:15 am on-site registration July 4 at Milton High School
Race Day Location: Milton High School, 114 West High Street, Milton, WI
Bib Pickup: 7-8:15 am at registration. No early bib pickup.
Parking: Ample parking is available at Milton High School with additional parking available across the street at Schillberg Park.
Race Start Times:
- 10K run and 5K walk start at 8:30 am
- One-mile runners at 8:35 am
Water Stations: There are three water stations on the 10K course. There are no water stations on the one-mile course.
Awards: Awards given for overall winners and age groups
Participants must be off the course by 9:50 a.m.
