This course is designed to teach lifeguarding responsibilities and rescue skills to certify participants as American Red Cross Lifeguards. Class includes CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard certification. Students must come prepared to swim on the first day of class and must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class. Proof of age is required on the first day of class. All class dates are mandatory. Participants will have to pass pre-requisite skills on the first day of class in order to continue with training. The pre-requisite skills include a 300-yard swim using freestyle and backstroke, a surface dive to a depth of 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object and swim in under 1 minute 40 seconds, and a timed deep-water tread.
