Gather, Practice, Reflect In The Midst Of Uncertainty Fall20
Virtual/Online None Madison, WI 53705-2750 Organized by UW HealthAbout this event
Description
During these challenging times, it can be helpful to gather together with the clear intention of being in a practice community and taking time to engage in a supported "study" and exploration of mindfulness and compassion teachings that can support our resilience.
Join with others in this online course to renew, review and experience basic meditation practices in the midst of life circumstances.
Our time together will include:
• guided meditations offered through MBSR and Sustainable Compassion Training
• dialogue about experiences in meditation, both pleasant and unpleasant, challenges, new perspectives, etc.
• time for reflections on select writings and poetry that help support a deepening understanding of living a contemplative life
This course also includes two individual interviews with instructor, Katherine Bonus, by phone or Zoom. The initial interview will take place prior to class start, and a final interview will be scheduled after the last online class session. These interviews are intended for personalized support of you and your ongoing practice.
Prerequisite: This online group is meant as a support for those who have completed MBSR or other form of meditation training and have experience with a personal mindfulness practice. The group is not intended for someone new to meditation.
This course will take place in live, online sessions that will not be recorded to maintain confidentiality. You will need access to an internet connection along with a computer or tablet that can run the Zoom application.
