A restorative yoga class is different than any other type of yoga class. We will start with a bit of gentle movement followed by a series of 3-6 reclined or supine poses where we will stay for 3-8 minutes each, concluding with 5 minutes of deep rest. All poses are completely supported with props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets to allow the muscles to be as inactive as possible resulting in a deeply relaxed state. This allows our bodies to come into a “rest and digest” state rather than “fight or flight”. Our practice will be held with a cozy fire when weather permits for an even more nurturing and relaxing experience.
No prior yoga experience necessary. Please bring a yoga bolster or a firm, large, rectangle pillow. Other props will be provided.
