In this exciting, project-based afterschool program, students in grades 3rd–4th will explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) through engaging, hands-on robotics and engineering challenges. Using LEGO Education robotics kits, students will design, build, and program robots, machines, and interactive models while developing their understanding of motors, sensors, simple machines, mechanical design, sequencing, loops, and conditional logic. Students will follow the engineering design process as they plan, build, test, troubleshoot, and improve their creations. Depending on student progress and interest, learners may also explore additional engineering and technology tools, including micro:bit, Hummingbird Robotics, 3D pens, and other age-appropriate platforms. Through collaborative projects and open-ended challenges, students will strengthen their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while building confidence with robotics, engineering, and coding. Returning students will enjoy new and increasingly advanced projects, while first-time participants will receive the guidance and support needed to learn and succeed. Regular updates will be shared with families through ClassDojo so parents can follow their child’s learning and accomplishments throughout the program.
