Have fun learning how to create your very own 3D video games and share your completed game with the world! Using KODU, an intuitive object-based coding engine developed by Microsoft, participants will be able to create their own unique game challenges. Final projects are fully functional video games.
Tech requirements: The control software is designed to run on Windows computers and tablets. Please note that Mac Computers, Chromebooks, Android devices and I phones are not supported at this time.
This class will be offered virtually on Zoom. Three days before class starts participants will be emailed a letter regarding Zoom login information for the class.
As a reminder to participants, parents & guardians; participants will be on a live video conference that will be recorded. Please read through the following guidelines to assist in maintaining a safe experience for everyone. The classes will be live and not interactive. Please make sure the participant is in a quiet place where a parent/guardian can monitor the session and assist, if needed. Also, please be aware there may be online media that contain references, ads or links to materials from third parties. DRD is not associated with those third parties. These sessions will be recorded for viewing by students who were unable to attend the session or for the attending students to take the class again on another day of the week. During the online class, all of the same rules apply as with in-person classes, i.e. listen to and follow directions from the instructor, be nice to one another, raise our hand if there is a question, take turns, and HAVE FUN, to name a few! If there are questions regarding the class please contact Courtney before the start of the video game design class.
