Words in the Woods:Nature Journaling Club Sunday, July 19⋅9:00 – 11:00am Weekly on Sunday, until Aug 10, 2020 Maple Hill Gardens 117 Ridge Road Description:Einstein once said, “look deep into nature and you will understand everything better”. There is no better way to look deep into nature than to keep a nature journal. Nature journaling in the intersection of mindfulness, illustration and science. Lindsey Shaklee has been keeping nature journals for over 10 years. She has studied with instructors from the Denver Botanical Garden’s School of Illustration and journaled in the tropical rain forests of Costa Rica and Belize. Along the way she has learned that there is no wrong way to keep a nature journal, but lots of different ways keep one! In these workshops you will learn about materials and methods, go for a short hike and practice with some fun, easy observations exercises. Bring a notebook, journal or paper, a pen, and a pencil. Watercolor, colored pencils, or other color mediums are fun but optional. Ages 10 and up $45/$40 members for 4 week series This is not a drop-off class. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a registered, responsible adult to ensure physical distancing and safety protocols can be met. All participants in BBA program must abide by these guidelines: 1. Everyone must meet with a face mask. his will be worn when meeting in a circle but may be removed during hiking. We have extras for you if you need one. 2. Space yourself 6' from others. Walk single file. 3. Small group (~10 people). 4. Leader will have handwipes and sanitizer.
