About this event
UNH Extension Master Gardener Series: Gardening in a Changing Climate Beginner and up Let's learn about Climate Friendly Gardening! Choosing plants for your yard and garden can be eco-sensitive and mother earth-friendly. We can do this! Gardeners are on the front line as witnesses to the changes in climate. The more we learn the more we grow! Information About the Presenter Ruth Axelrod Ruth grew up in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains where she learned to love nature in all its forms. Her mother was a passionate gardener who raised gladiolas and dahlias in green-painted World War II surplus gasoline canisters on the edge of the rocky cliff in front of their home. Ruth’s passion is helping people learn to recognize the ecological impacts of their landscaping and gardening practices and, therefore, to be able to make choices that positively impact their local ecosystems. Her particular interest is creating environments that nourish the spirit while balancing human needs with those of wildlife and protecting the quality of water in our rivers, lakes and bays.
