Mountain Bike Adventure Camp Hit the trails with Velo Kids and Ottawa County Parks! Our Mountain Bike Adventure Camp gives young riders the confidence and skills to take on the natural challenges of mountain biking—all while having a blast outdoors. Using a proven, hands-on curriculum, campers will learn how to climb hills efficiently, steer through trees, navigate roots and obstacles, master body positioning, and shift gears like a pro. Each day brings new trails to explore and opportunities to grow as a rider. Campers are grouped by ability, with short assessments to help ensure everyone rides at the right level and can progress into more advanced groups over time. This half-day, adventure-based camp blends skill-building, safety, and trail stewardship for an unforgettable week of fun and exploration in nature. What to Bring: A positive attitude! A helmet and a functioning mountain bike (ideally with gears). Don’t have one? Borrow from our Bike Library! (Contact emily@velo-kids.org if a bike or helmet is needed.) Comfort and independence on two wheels (no balance bikes or training wheels at camp). A backpack to carry your own water and snack. The ability to ride without stopping: 3–4 miles (K–2nd grade) 5–6 miles (3rd–5th grade) 7–8+ miles (6th-8th grade) Join us for an unforgettable mountain biking experience filled with growth, adventure, and fun in nature!
