About this event
We are very excited to be adding the Whilamut Natural Area to the 36th Annual Eugene Butterfly Count!  Every year the Lane County Butterfly Club counts butterflies on one day (around the 4th of July) in several natural areas in a 5 mile radius of Eugene-Springfield.  This is a wonderful opportunity to gain butterfly knowledge from an expert in the field and co-founder of Nearby Nature, Sharon Blick! We hope that you will join us on Saturday July 4th from 10am-3pm (timing will vary depending on the weather). Open to anyone interested in butterflies!  Please register so we can contact you if there is a delayed start due to cold or damp weather. We will meet at Nearby Nature's Discovery Lab (next to our yurt) in Alton Baker Park.  Directions at nearbynature.org/about-us/directions/. Be prepared to walk 2-5 miles.  Bring your own water, lunch, sunscreen, etc.  Fee $3.00 to be paid to the Lane County Butterfly Club (if this presents a barrier, we will cover you).
