AN EASY, SAFE SOLUTION
Supervised Study Halls provide a physically-distanced learning environment in which a caring adult supervises students as they complete their remote learning activities. Each study hall features several "creativity breaks" throughout the session, which allows your student to participate in fun, staff-led activities to keep them engaged and motivated.
HOW IT WORKS
Who: Students in grades 1-5 on the B school schedule
When: On the home-learning days for students on the B day schedule (ie - M, W)
Why: To provide a safe, supervised environment for their students to do their remote learning. Students should bring a water bottle. Parents can drop off and pick up at any point during the scheduled start/stop times, based on what’s convenient for your schedule. Students should bring their school assignments and other work to do during the session (computer, reading materials, etc).
HEALTH & SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
We know that health and safety are top of mind for parents. Here’s an overview of the precautions that will be in place and strictly enforced by our staff.
Study Hall staff will use approved sanitizer on all table-tops & chairs before each study hall session begins. In addition, all creativity break materials will be sanitized between uses and each participant will have their own supplies. All students and staff will use hand-sanitizer before and after each creativity break.
Students will be spaced at least 6’ apart from each other, including during break activities. Please note that we do allow students who arrive together (like siblings) to be seated closer than 6' apart.
Each study hall session will be supervised by a staff member (1 staff per 10 students). Staff will ensure health & safety guidelines are strictly enforced and lead fun creativity breaks. Also, while not necessarily content area experts, staff will also help students when they have questions about their learning assignments.
All staff & participants are required to wear face coverings.
