A watercraft instruction camp that will teach basic sailing and canoeing skills at the O'Shaughnessy Reservoir. Open to children ages 10-15 years that have intermediate level swimming skills. Children will be taught basic nautical concepts and skills including boating safety, terminology, knot-tying, points of sail, and capsize recovery. Friday afternoon parents and family are welcomed to the camp to sail with their children and see what they have learned.
All applicants must be able to jump into water over their head and float, swim or tread water for three minutes.
All lifejackets and boating equipment is provided. Campers must pack a lunch.
Sessions run for one week, Monday through Friday from 9am - 4:00 pm.
