We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Paddle the edges of McDowell Nature Preserve with our experienced instructors while enjoying nature with your family. Discover the natural history that makes Lake Wylie a great destination for wildlife viewing. All equipment provided. No walk-ins accepted. Pre-registration required (for adult and child alike).
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation follows all CDC guidelines and Governor’s orders. Participants are expected to wear a mask indoors at all times and outdoors only when participants are less than 6’ apart. At that time, we will ask everyone to wear a mask. If you cannot, you will be asked to stand more than 6’ away for everyone’s protection.
Under the new Executive Order, masks will still be required indoors but are no longer mandated outdoors. Masks are still strongly recommended outdoors by NC DHHS in crowded areas and higher risk settings where social distancing is difficult.
This is NOT a drop-off program. Adult participation required.
Please bring a towel, sunscreen, sturdy footwear (with a backstrap) that can get wet and a change of clothing (quick dry clothing, no cotton). Must be able to paddle for an extended period of time. Please bring your own water bottle.
