About this event
This is a traditional oil still-life painting class for beginners. There will be two main agendas throughout the 6-week course. The first three weeks will be a classical still-life approach where students can develop composition sketches and descriptive oil painting skills. A more modern still-life approach will be covered for the later three weeks so that students can start painting from the observation but experimenting with their own painting styles. For example, the forms can be abstract or distorted, and colors can be applied with palette knives instead of brushes. Students will expect to finish two medium-sized canvas artworks throughout the course but not limited to the number of artworks. This class will be a great place to learn basic observational painting styles for first-time oil painters.
