About this event
Building layers of yellow, magenta, cyan and black, this exploratory workshop will cover the basics of monotype printing on the press. We will utilize stencils and ghost layers (layers after the first print is pulled from the press) to experiment with image making in the unique way printmaking allows. Participants will learn techniques for adding and removing inks from the plate, transferring marks and inkjet images, and utilizing water based inks to their full potential. No previous printmaking experience is needed, and process based exploration welcomed in a judgment free zone.
