Have you ever wished you could visit Mount Olympus . . . even if just for a day? Would you enjoy battling Medusa or sailing on an adventure past Scylla and Charybdis or the Hydra? Come join us as we listen, create, dramatize, and bring to life the myths of Ancient Greece and Rome! Format: background on myth, Read the myth, Retell the myth, Assign groups to make props/costumes/practice, Create some art/writing/craft around the myth. Eat a snack related to Roman or Greek culture; Reenact the myth using simple props Myths to choose from: Arachne, Medusa, The Gift of Athena, Icharus and Daedelus, Baucis and Philemon, Europa and Cadmus, Pegasus, Hercules, Golden Apple, Theseus and more! About the teachers: Magistra Mills is a former 6th grade teacher and Magistra Sherrick is a current 5th grade Latin teacher. Each is a seasoned veteran teacher who has taught all grammar subjects and raised daughters who love myths and history.
