About this event

NOTE: Winter 2022 classes are postponed 2 weeks, and will start the week of January 24. They will run for 9 weeks through March 21st. See email for further details. Send questions to callanwoldehealthandsafety@callanwolde.org. Relevant to all 2D media (drawing, painting, printmaking, photography), this class will introduce color theory and the elements and principles of art. Supply List: 2D Design and Color theory – Chris Hall • Two ply Bristol board, vellum surface, 14”x17” • Pad of palette paper (white or gray) or paper plates • Color Wheel • Black Micron Marker • Black Micron Pen • Acrylic paints as follows (you need the following colors ONLY): primary red (or cadmium light red, or pyrrole red light), primary blue (or brilliant blue, or cobalt blue), primary yellow (or cadmium yellow medium, or hansa yellow opaque), ivory black (or mars black) and titanium white • Palette knife • Assorted synthetic hair student quality short-handle acrylic brushes (suggested sizes: round #1, #2, #8; flat 1/4" and ¾”) • Water container • Pencils (HB, 2H) • Graphite Stick (HB or 2B) • White plastic eraser • Scissors • 18" or 24" metal ruler (w/cork on the back) • X-acto knife (and extra #11 X-acto blades) • Scotch #811 removable tape, ¾” (in blue box) • Small self-healing cutting mat (9" x 12") • Small plastic paint storage containers with lids • Compass
