This course offers a summary of the fundamentals of design and color. The elements and principles of design and basic color theory are absolutely the most essential tools for any artist. Immersive understanding of these areas allows an artist to work with confidence and a greater sense of purposeful control. This class will help you make the work you want to make…better. This class is held in person with physical distancing and mask requirements Supply List • 2 ply Bristol board, vellum surface, 11” x 14" or 14”x17” • Tracing paper pad 11” x 14" or 14”x17” • Pad of palette paper (white or gray) • Color Wheel • Acrylic paints as follows (you need the following colors ONLY): primary magenta, primary cyan and primary yellow, ivory, (or mars) black and titanium white • Palette knife • Assorted synthetic hair student quality watercolor brushes (suggested sizes: round #1, #2, #8; flat 1/4" and ¾”) • Small plastic paint storage containers with lids • Pencils (HB, 2H) • White plastic eraser • Scissors • 18" or 24" metal ruler (w/cork on the back) • X-acto knife (and extra #11 X-acto blades) • Scotch #811 removable tape, ¾” (in blue box) • Small self-healing cutting mat (9" x 12") • Art box or some storage container • digital camera or camera phone
