Introducing the Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge!
Each week for 8 weeks, we’ll send you a new run challenge. You’ll have 1 week to complete the challenge. Once complete, submit your challenge, with GPS / Garmin / Strava / photo evidence.
Every registered runner will get a shirt. Some weekly challenges will include a bonus prize, courtesy of our sponsors. Other weeks we may spotlight a non-profit to raise awareness of their cause. Our favorite social media posts (Facebook or Instagram) using #CabinFeverAchiever will be selected for an additional prize. A portion of each registration will go to Meals on Wheels - Atlanta. You can read more about Meals on Wheels below.
We launched the first Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge back in April as a way to help people stay active and connected. The response was incredible: over 600 participants took on the challenge with half of them completing all 8 weeks! Now We’re excited to bring you the Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge 2.0! We’ve learned a lot from our first Challenge and can’t wait to bring it back, better than ever! Whether you took on the challenge last time or you’re new to our virtual events, you’re sure to have 8 weeks of entertainment and motivation! Returning challengers will get a bonus swag item!

A portion of each registration will be donated to Meals on Wheels - Atlanta. MOW - Atlanta is a non-profit and charitable organization that aims to support senior independence though meals, shelter, education, and community.
In 1965, Meals On Wheels Atlanta launched a visionary agenda to support vulnerable seniors struggling with food insecurity and social isolation. Over more than 50 years, they have grown from a small soup kitchen to an organization serving over 500,000 meals each year throughout the Atlanta area. Last year, Meals on Wheels Atlanta delivered a record-breaking 519,000 meals! However, due to limited operational and funding capacity, there are hundreds of senior neighbors that are vulnerable, hungry, and waiting to receive our lifeline meal service.
Since the 1st week of the COVID crisis in Georgia Meals On Wheels Atlanta shifted the way it operates. They are now producing 15,000 meals per week. That is more than 163,000 meals so far. Meals on Wheels Atlanta delivers 7 days of nutritious meals every Saturday with an army of volunteers. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Meals on Wheels and are critical to helping us carry out our mission. Last year, volunteers donated over 21,914 hours of their time, which saved us $557,273.

Event details and schedule
Q: Will this be any different than the CFA Challenge from the Spring?
A: Yes! We’re streamlining the challenge reporting system, adding ways for participants to connect with each other, and ordering our medals much earlier! 2-3 of everyone’s favorite challenges last time may be reinstated. The remainder will be brand new!
Q: Why is the registration $40? That seems a little high.
A: We plan to make this challenge worth your while also providing assistance to MOW - Atlanta. This comes out to $5 per week. If $40 is too steep for you, no problem! We hope you’ll still donate HERE.
Q: How hard are the challenges?
A: We want to make this fun for as many runners as possible. Challenges will be manageable for most runners. If there is a challenge that is too difficult, or can't be completed for any reason, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send you an alternative!
Q: What if a work or living situation prevents me from completing a challenge?
A: We understand that everybody has a different set of personal challenges, which has only been exacerbated by COVD-19. While we do intend some challenges to be more difficult than others, if it is impossible or beyond reasonable for you to complete, you can email us at email@example.com REQUESTING an alternative challenge and we will provide one for you!
Q: Are you still accepting weekly sponsors and non-profit spotlights?
A: Yes! If you know of a business or non-profit that wants to engage with us please send them our way!
Q: Do I have to run the challenges, or can I walk?
A: Challenges can be completed running or walking.
Q: Do I have to live in Atlanta to participate?
A: Nope! Our first Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge had participants from 29 states and 3 countries! Some of our sponsors will be local businesses, but the challenges can be completed anywhere.
Q: What if I sign up after Week 1 is complete?
A: That's OK! We'll give you a chance to make up any challenges you've missed. You won't be eligible for social media or sponsor prizes for make-up challenges.
Q: Can I donate more to the beneficiary?
A: Yes! Click HERE
Q: How do I prove I completed the challenge?
A: We will send you a form to submit with each week’s challenge email. You can upload garmin, strava, Runkeeper, or photographs. Even a brief written description will suffice. We want the run to be the challenge, not the reporting of it!
Q: How long do I have to submit each challenge?
A: Weekly challenges must be submitted by the following Sunday at 8:00 AM
Q: Does everyone get a t-shirt?
Q: What are these team challenges?
A: There will be some weeks where teams will have either an alternative challenge or an add-on challenge in addition to the normal one. Don’t worry! Missing a team challenge will NOT affect your individual challenge completion total!
Q: If I’m not on a team does that mean I can’t participate when there’s a team challenge week?
A: Whether you’re on a team or not there will be a challenge every week for you.
Q: Will there always be a weekly prize?
A: Not always. We are working with various sponsors and vendors to provide weekly prizes, but some weeks may not have prizes.
Q: When and how will I receive my t-shirt and prizes?
A: You will receive everything after the challenge is complete. You will have the option to pick up in-person (Atlanta, GA) or may request shipping for no added cost.
