Join us for Rapides Cancer Center's fifth Colors of Courage 5K and Color Run presented by Walk-On's to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event will take place on Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m. The run celebrates our cancer survivors, encourages those who are currently battling cancer and remembers those who fought the good fight.
This is a 5K and color run, with several coloring stations along the route that begins and ends on the Rapides Regional Medical Center campus in downtown Alexandria.
The name Colors of Courage comes from the various forms of cancer and the color associated with each.
All runners are welcome. Don't run? Don't worry. Walkers are welcome to participate and will have 1 hour to complete the course.
Event details and schedule
The race begins at 6 p.m. on March 31 between the Rapides Cancer Center and Rapides Women's and Children's Hospital. The course is flat and goes through downtown Alexandria and the Garden District before finishing in front of the Rapides Health and Lifestyles Center on Scott Street.
Packet pick-up will begin on race day at noon at the Rapides Cancer Center.
The race is electronically timed. Everyone who registers by March 20 is guaranteed a T-shirt.
Online registration ends at noon on March 29.
Registration is $30. Children 8 and under may participate for free with with parent's registration. However, they will not receive a race bib and event T-shirt unless they pay the registration fee.
Colors of Courage is non-refundable, including in the event it must be cancelled due to inclement weather. The race will proceed in the case of light rain.
