The living Earth School invites you to our basecamp for a weekend of crafting and honing your earth skills. This will be a wonderful weekend with opportunities to create and fabricate with master craftsman, Peter Yencken, or learn the art of Blacksmithing with Paul Cipriani. You choose how you want the workshop weekend to go for you: choose crafting or blacksmithing. To register: first select the base weekend price and then choose ONE project, craft or activity. Crafting: This fun weekend will be an opportunity for you to dig deep into a craft of your choice. You can choose to make a wooden bow with one arrow or a quiver with several arrows. Another option might be to make a knife with a wooden handle. You could also choose to hone your leather working skills by making a pair of leather shoes or a backpack or shoulder bag. If you are a beginning leather worker, you can make a journal or a water bottle holder. Blacksmithing: There is space for a limited number of people to learn the art of beginning blacksmithing with Paul Cipriani. We will use a primitive coal forge and break out the hammers. Participants will learn the basics of this ancient fire art and make simple projects such as hooks. You can choose to pitch a tent in the beautiful valley and share a pot-luck dinner with other crafters and survivalists around a communal campfire. We'll tell stories as the moon rises and wake the next day ready to continue our crafts and earth skills. Camping on the land is optional. It will be an amazing weekend!
