So It

Nov 2, 2009

So it's been awhile since my last post, but I'm back to talk to all those guys and girls that search for those special shoes high and low; not for performance on the court, but for the  "turning heads" style on the streets.  Yes I'm talking about you, you SNEAKER HEAD.

With holiday shopping right around the corner, this is the time when a lot of hot new products will be hitting the shelves all over the world.

For all you Jordan nuts out there, the highly anticipated Space Jam 11's will be dropping in December.  Personally the 11's are my favorite Jordan of the number line, but to eachit's own.

These shoes were first seen on Jordan's feet while defeating the Monstars in the movie "Space Jam", hence the name Space Jam XI's.  They were then again seen on his feet during the 1995-96 playoffs (seen wearing them while guarding Penny Hardaway during playoffs).  Jordan decided  to bring these shoes out, due to the fact that the NBA fined him for the first 2 games of the playoffs because they deemed his XI's with the white upper, a uniform infraction because the rest of the team was wearing all black sneakers.

The XI's were the first basketball shoe to feature patent leather, which led to this shoe to being one of the most sought after Jordan of all time.  Besides having the looks down pact, some of the features of the shoe include a carbon fiber spring plate, ballistic nylon uppers, a Huarache inner sleeve, quick lace system, and carbon fiber sheath and air sole.

All in all, this shoe was an instant classic and still remains a classic with its anticipated release this December.  The price tags on these are $175 USD.

Everybody has that favorite pair of sneaks in their closet, and there are a lot of hot, exclusive shoes floating around out there.  HipHopUpdate.com has made a list of the Top 100 shoes of the 2000's take a look and see if your favorite made the list.  I know I have a couple on there, how about you?

The first sneaker I am going to talk about today is called the HYPERIZE. The Hyperize is the newest creation in the "Hyper" line created by Nike. There are 3 main features of the Hyperize that make it one of the best basketball shoes out on the market right now. Flywire was first introduced in the Zoom Victory shoe that was worn by many track stars in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and the Hyperdunks that were worn by the USA Basketball Team. Flywire is a techonolgy that is used to create a light-weight shoe without compromising the support that basketball players need on the courts. They are high-strength threads that are placed at key points where the foot needs the most support; you can compare the technology to the cables used in suspension bridges. The second feature is LunarLite foam in the forefoot. The Lunarlite foam is another innovative technology introduced by Nike this past year. Nike got their idea for Lunarlite foam from the cushioning system used in the seats that astronauts sit on during their missions, hence LUNAR foam, not too hard to find out where they got the name from. The last feature is the Nike Zoom Unit in the heel. Zoom Air allows for a light-weight and responsive low to the ground feel, all the things that a basketball player needs. Mix all those features together and you can see why this shoe is one of the best on the markets.

Below is a link to Nike where you can view the different color ways that Nike offers to the public. This shoe's retail value is $125 USD

So, onto the shoe that will be highly anticipated this Fall. This shoe is of course the LeBron VII which is the newest release in the line of LeBron already famous line. This shoe is nothing like any of the other shoes that James has released since he's been in the NBA. The shoe is made with the same Flywire technology used in the Hyperize, providing a light and supportive feel. Also a LeBron first, is the full-length air sole unit, which contains 80 percent more air than prior Max 360 air sole units. The air sole is thinner in the forefoot and deeper in the heel where cushioning is needed most for basketball players. Another feature is the seamless integrated bootie in the inside of the shoe which provides a lockdown support while also preventing any irritation you may get from stitching in other shoes. The outsole has LeBron James written all over it, this is something Lebron has done on all of sneakers. On the outsole there are 5 flex grooves that represent the 5 players on the court while 23 stripes in the midsection represent his number, 23. Also on the outsole there is a 3D decoder when rotated you can see LeBron's 6 credos – Passion, Fearless, Tradition, Community, Family, and Loyalty. There are also 7 Flywire strings on the tongue that represent the 7th shoe Lebron has released. The Lebron VII will be released on October 24th priced at $160 USD.
