McDonald's All-American Boys Teams Set

The 2010 McDonald's All-American Game, set for March 31 in Columbus, Ohio, announced its rosters in February and this year's team includes:

  • Jared Sullinger from Columbus (Northland) OH
  • Harrison Barnes from Ames (H.S.) IA
  • Brandon Knight from Ft. Lauderdale (Pine Crest) FL
  • Perry Jones from Duncanville (H.S.) TX
  • Kyrie Irving from Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
  • Josh Selby from Baltimore (Lake Clifton) MD
  • Tristan Thompson from Henderson (Findlay Prep) NV
  • DeShaun Thomas from Ft. Wayne (Bishop Luers) IN
  • Joe Jackson from Memphis (White Station) TN
  • Josh Smith from Covington (Kentwood) WA
  • Tobias Harris from Dix Hills (Half Hollow Hills West) NY
  • Terrence Jones from Portland (Jefferson) OR
  • Doron Lamb from Mouth of Wilson (Oak Hill) VA
  • Kendall Marshall from Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) VA
  • Cory Joseph from Henderson (Findlay Prep) NV
  • Patric Young from Jacksonville (Providence School) FL
  • Reggie Bullock from Kinston (H.S.) NC
  • Keith Appling from Detroit (Pershing) MI
  • Jayvaughn Pinkston from Brooklyn (Bishop Loughlin) NY
  • Jelan Kendrick from Marietta (Wheeler) GA
  • Ray McCallum from Beverly Hills (Detroit Country Day) MI
  • C.J. Leslie from Raleigh (Word of God) NC
  • Jereme Richmond from Waukegan (H.S.) IL
  • Fabricio DeMelo from Weston (Sagemont) FL

We think it is interesting that two players from Nevada (Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph), one player from Washington (Josh Smith), and one player from Oregon (Terrence Jones) were named to play in the game. However, nobody from California and only one player from Texas made this year's team. The state with the most players on the team is Florida and the New York Metropolitan area also is well-represented.

The only two players who play on the same high school team and in the same club team program who made the team are 6-foot-9 Tristan Thompson and 6-3 Cory Joseph, who play in the spring and summer for Grassroots Canada, which won the adidas 64 Tournament in July of 2008, and in the winter for Henderson (Findlay Prep) NV, which won high basketball's national championship a year ago.

Also noteworthy is the fact that five of the 24 players named to play in this year's McDonald's All-American Game are still undecided: Knight, Selby, Lamb, Jones and Leslie.
