Description
Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard? Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass certain swimming requirements. 7 Hours of eLearning required to be completed prior to the first class meeting. The eLearning link will be emailed to registered participants after course registration closes (approximately one week before the class is held).
Please bring a swimsuit and towel with you to class. Participants that do not successfully complete the class prerequisites will be dismissed from the class and a refund will not be provided.
This is a BLENDED LEARNING class. Participants will be expected to complete a 7-hour online portion prior to attending the first class. Class times are as follows: Friday 5p-8p, Saturday 9 a-6p, Sunday 9 a-6p.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass certain swimming requirements outlined below. 7 Hours of eLearning required to be completed prior to the first-class meeting and information will be emailed to participants a week before the class begins.Class prerequisites will be tested at the first-class meeting and include a 200-yard swim (front or breaststroke), 20-yard and 7ft dive brick retrievals, and 2 minutes of treading water (using only legs). Please bring a swimsuit and towel with you to class. Participants that do not successfully complete the class prerequisites will be dismissed from the class and a refund will not be provided.
